Product Description:
Boasting the highest HDTV resolution available today, this set takes your home television to a new level. Customize your entertainment experience, whether you're gaming, watching TV, viewing a DVD, or screening your digital photos or videos.

Amazon.com Product Description:
Sleek and modern in its silver casing, Westinghouse Digital's W32701 27-inch widescreen LCD television will amaze you with its ability to render sharp, vivid images from standard- and high-definition sources alike. The set features a built-in DVI terminal for direct-digital connection with PCs and DTV receivers, and its widescreen, 16:9 aspect ratio is specially designed to match the dimensions of your favorite DVD movies and HDTV broadcasts.

The 1,280 x 720-pixel W32701 features an ultrathin, 7.9-inch profile with a 170-degree viewing angle that makes it possible to view a clear picture from almost anywhere in the room--perfect for gatherings and family movie nights. The TV is compatible with everything from standard 480i to 480p, 720p, and full 1080i HD pictures (built-in image scaling adjusts 1080i signals to match the set's 768 horizontal lines).

Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p or 720p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.

LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch "flyback" noise, an issue with CRT TVs), image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), screen life (no risk of image burn-in), space savings, and light weight/easy positioning.

The W32701's exceptional 16 millisecond response time (the time it takes the screen's pixels to update themselves with fresh data) delivers crisp images for fast-action moving video and video games. The set also displays the broadest possible range of colors, and with its 500 cd/m2 brightness, produces vibrant images in almost any lighting condition.

Westinghouse Digital's advanced, two-tuner PIP (picture-in-picture) functions give you everything from mixed-mode PIP for watching TV and working on a PC concurrently to split-screen viewing and the option to resize and relocate the PIP window. PIP abilities even extend to image swap and audio swap, which lets you switch the sound between the PIP and main screens without rearranging the video windows.

Other connections include an RS-232C control port, component-video (one HD and one SD), composite-video, S-video, RF, and PC (RGB). A headphone jack fosters private listening, and a dedicated subwoofer output lets you enhance your listening with powerful deep bass frequencies. The set's built-in speakers give you stereo audio (with 8 watts per channel) from inputs or broadcast programming. A surround-simulation algorithm produces spacious surround sound from the set's built-in speakers or headphone jack.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Appalling Customer Service
Never buy a product from Westinghouse Digital. I purchased a laptop from them and it arrived with major hardware problems. Upon discovering the problem with my computer, I attempted to obtain an RMA number and my call was NEVER returned. Without this number you cannot get anything serviced. After I called 3 times over the period of two weeks, someone finally told me the number and the address. They received my package on January 9, and I have not heard a single thing since then (February 13). ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Wide Screen Reality
The only bad review for this is by someone who doesn't understand Wide screen TV.

A 4:3 TV is a 3-4-5 Right Triangle. Divide the Diagonal measurement By 5 then multiply that number by 3 to get the picture hieght, or by 4 to get the width.

A 16:9 TV is a 16-9-18.36 Right Trangle. Divide the Diagonal measurement By 18.36 then multiply that number by 9 to get the picture hieght, or by 16 to get the width.

Rule of Thumb:
17" Widescreen = 15" 4:3 Picture Height ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not Bad for the Money
I've had this LCD HDTV for about 2 months and have to say that it's not bad for the price. The good points are the TV display is exceptional. Being an LCD, it has a small foot print. You can't beat this LCD TV for the price, it's a great value. The bad points are it doesn't have a universal remote and there is not a universal code for the TV. If you want to use another remote, you have to use a learning remote. It doesn't have a DVI or HDMI ports. This won't matter though if you use component ports. ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great picture / Great Value
I shopped for a new TV about a year and got lucky to find this product drop in price to $1,299 last month just as my old 27" Trinitron went dark. What a great value! My Son said it was just like watching TV at BestBuy. Our cable box is also an HDTV tuner so we get over 30 HD channels and you can't get any better picture than this. We're hooked up to a home theater speaker system and going through a lot more popcorn than ever before. I went nuts and bought the new Westinghouse microwave with the barcode scanner ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great
So far so good iv'e had this unit about one month and I'm delighted so far.
Strengths: Great picture(Awesome), compared to plasma tv's, not much of a difference. Sound quality is great as well, with built in 8' speakers and integrated surround sound with a subwoofer connection as well.

Weak Points: The remote control is a lil' more complicated than most but if you have a universal remote you'll be okay. It is a bit on the heavy side(about 50lbs) so wallmounting is questionable but if you have ... Read More
